Our client is a privately owned single-family investment office with a substantial and diversified real estate portfolio across several European countries. The organization combines a long-term investment perspective with an entrepreneurial approach to real estate ownership, development, and asset management.

The real estate platform manages a broad portfolio of commercial, residential, and retail properties and is responsible for acquisition, development, asset management, and corporate governance activities across multiple jurisdictions. The organization operates in an international environment and consists of a team of experienced professionals with diverse backgrounds and expertise.

To support its continued growth and expansion strategy, our client is seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Acquisition & Development Manager.

The Acquisition & Development Manager will play a key role in identifying, evaluating, and securing new development and acquisition opportunities in Luxembourg. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving expansion initiatives, managing complex stakeholder relationships, and overseeing projects from site identification through acquisition, permitting, and development.

The role requires a strong understanding of real estate markets, land acquisition, project development, and investment analysis, combined with excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess market opportunities that support the organization's growth and investment strategy.

  • Conduct feasibility studies, financial analyses, and commercial assessments of potential acquisitions and developments.

  • Prepare and present investment cases, development proposals, and expansion plans to senior stakeholders.

  • Lead negotiations with municipalities, landowners, brokers, consultants, developers, and other relevant parties.

  • Source and acquire land, development sites, and strategic real estate opportunities.

  • Manage planning and permitting processes in cooperation with local authorities and advisors.

  • Select, appoint, and coordinate external consultants, architects, engineers, and other professional advisors.

  • Lead and oversee internal and external project teams throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with retailers, shopping center owners, investors, developers, and other market participants.

  • Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging opportunities within the retail and broader real estate sectors.

  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with agreed timelines, budgets, and investment objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent) in Real Estate, Urban Planning, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in real estate acquisition, development, and project management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in land and site acquisition.
  • Experience with retail real estate, shopping center developments, mixed-use projects, or large-scale urban developments is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of current retail trends and commercial real estate markets.
  • Proven track record of successfully negotiating and closing complex real estate transactions.
  • Experience operating within an international investment or real estate environment is considered a strong advantage.
