A unique opportunity to build and shape the local finance organisation of a fast-growing, internationally backed real estate platform, at a moment when the Dutch portfolio is expanding significantly. We are looking for someone with a genuine long-term view, who is energised by building and developing a team of 3 to 4 FTE, and who combines strong financial expertise with the relationship-building skills to lead effectively, both within finance and across the wider organisation.
As Head of Finance, you carry overall responsibility for all in-country financial matters and act as a genuine business partner to the Country Director and the wider leadership team. Your responsibilities include:
• Overseeing all in-country financial matters, including payments, cash management and the outsourced accounting and finance providers
• Ensuring accurate, complete and timely financial records, reporting and statutory compliance
• Managing the monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes, and local banking relationships
• Preparing and reviewing management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) and leading local budgeting and forecasting
• Providing financial analysis and business insight to support strategic and operational decision-making
• Supporting the Investment, Development, Asset Management and Property Management teams with business cases and investment appraisals
• Reviewing development appraisals and significant commercial contracts from a financial risk and value perspective
• Coordinating local tax compliance (VAT, corporate income tax) and supporting Group Tax on transfer pricing and tax projects
• Supporting acquisitions, disposals and corporate restructurings in collaboration with Group Finance, Tax and Legal
• Managing relationships with external auditors, tax advisors and other professional service providers
• Coordinating the preparation and filing of annual statutory accounts and local corporate governance matters
• Leading finance process improvement and digitalisation initiatives, including acting as local finance lead on ERP projects
• Leading financial due diligence on acquisitions and disposals, and coordinating post-deal financial integration
• Building, leading and developing the local finance team (3 to 4 FTE) as the business grows, with a clear focus on long-term team development
• Proven experience in a Head of Finance or senior finance leadership role, ideally within real estate
• A university degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a related field
• A true leadership mentality, comfortable building and developing a team and influencing stakeholders across other departments
• Strong skills in building and maintaining relationships, both within the finance team and across the wider organisation
• A long-term, strategic view, with experience in change management, organisational transformation and driving operational efficiency
• A collaborative working style, with strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• An affinity for technology and finance tools, with a forward-thinking, digital mindset
• A continuous improvement mentality and a proactive approach to optimising processes
• A creative, solution-oriented way of thinking, unafraid to challenge the status quo
• Fluent English; Dutch is strongly preferred
Nice to have
• Experience with Yardi, Power Query and Tableau
• Experience supporting real estate transactions (M&A)
• Experience working with ChatGPT and Claude
