Managing Director | Real Estate Investment Management

About our client

Our client is a fast-growing, internationally operating investment and asset management organization with a strong financial position. Operating from offices in Europe and the United States, the organization invests in residential, retail, and commercial real estate, often in partnership with international banks, institutional investors, and private investors.

To strengthen the Dutch organization, we are looking for an entrepreneurial and strategic Managing Director. Based in Amsterdam, you will lead the Dutch activities and serve as the connecting link between the local organization and the capital markets in London.

The Role

As Managing Director, you bear ultimate responsibility for the Dutch business. You determine the commercial and strategic direction, manage the local team, and are responsible for the performance of the Dutch real estate portfolio and the organization's further growth.

You maintain intensive contacts with international investors, banks, advisors, and other stakeholders, and report directly to the international board in London.

Responsibilities

• Ultimate responsibility for the Dutch investment and asset management activities.
• Developing and executing strategic growth plans.
• Leading the Dutch team and further professionalizing the organization.
• Responsible for the financial results, returns, and performance of the portfolio.
• Initiating and guiding acquisitions, disposals, and refinancings.
• Relationship management with institutional investors, banks, joint venture partners, and external advisors.
• Overseeing asset management, property management, and development activities.
• Monitoring governance, compliance, and risk management.
• Representing the organization within the Dutch real estate and investment market.
• Reporting to the international board in London and contributing to the European strategy.

Profile

• Completed university degree, preferably in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or Business Administration.
• At least 12 to 15 years of relevant experience within investment management, asset management, private equity, or institutional real estate.
• Experience in an ultimately responsible management or executive role.
• Demonstrable experience with large real estate portfolios and institutional investors.
• Strong commercial and strategic skills.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent financial acumen and experience with complex investment structures.
• A strong international network within real estate, investment management, and banking is a clear advantage.
• Excellent command of English.

Terms of Employment

• Salary starting from €150,000 gross per year, depending on experience.
• Attractive bonus scheme.
• Possibility of a long-term incentive (LTIP/equity), depending on experience.
• A clear path to partnership in the short term.
• Based in Amsterdam, with regular travel to London and frequent interaction with international investors and business partners.
• Significant scope to further build out the Dutch organization.
• A key position within a financially very strong and ambitious international investment organization.
